3 Must-Read Books for 2016

As social media changes the face of how we interact with companies/organizations and what we expect of them, it’s important for all business owners to use all the tools in their belt to make the best impression on potential customers/clients, build relationships with existing customers/clients, and learn from past customers/clients.

With that in mind, I want to share my picks of two books that every small/medium business owner should have on their to-read for 2016.

Manipurated by Daniel Lemin

Digital marketing expert and online reputation strategist (and friend) Daniel Lemin released this fantastic book at the end of 2015. A short, but powerful read, it explores the world of online ratings and gives business owners tips on how to arm themselves to manage their reputations and stay on top of what’s being said about them. Manipurated by Daniel Lemin

Hug Your Haters by Jay Baer

Influential digital marketing speaker and writer Jay Baer’s new book, Hug Your Haters, doesn’t official come out until March 1, but it’s definitely a book you’ll want on your to-read list. Having checked out a preview of it, I can confidently say that it’s a great resource for any business that deals with customer complaints (which is just about all businesses!).

To Sell is Human by Daniel Pink

Whether you’re in sales or not, you probably need to convince people of things all the time–with that in mind, Daniel Pink explores the interesting world of human motivation and pulls out lessons that we can all apply in our day-to-day careers. This book is on my students’ reading list this semester (I teach at the City College of New York), and I hope you’ll check it out too.
